You would think that I would get sick of writing about Amy Winehouse, but I don’t think that is possible. The singing sensation is constantly in a state of drama and it is almost to the point where her weird and erratic behavior is the norm. Soap opera writers couldn’t come up with a character as good as Amy.

Amy took time out from public intoxification and randomly doling out smack-downs to be rushed to hospital by ambulance. According to her spokesperson, Chris Goodman, the Rehab songstress suffered an adverse reaction to medication she was taking. That tends to happen if you drink like a fish while taking meds. This reaction resulted in Amy needing to be taken to the University College Hospital were she was admitted for overnight detox, I mean, observation.

A spokesperson for UCH has said that, “Our doctors decided to keep her overnight for observation. She had a comfortable night and will be discharged today.” On his way in to visit his daughter in hospital, Winehouse’s father, Mitch, asked the media and paparazzi to leave his family alone. Showing off a bag of fast food he told reporters, “This is how serious it is,” when pressed about her condition.

She has since been released and is back home. In his statement, Goodman says, “She had a bit of a scare yesterday because of a reaction to treatment. She was kept in overnight purely for observation. Amy is at home now after leaving with her father and manager. She is having a rest.”

This latest medical emergency comes amid grave concerns for the singer’s health. Her prior stay in hospital resulted in a diagnoses of early stage emphysema due to her chronic cigarette and crack habits. The diagnoses didn’t seem to faze the slightly crazy singer at all, as she still puffs away like a chimney every chance she gets.

Poor, poor little Mary Kate Olsen. When she is not being slammed by Spencer no talent Pratt, who a few weeks ago called her a troll, she is being accused of partying again.

According to Star magazine, Mary Kate is back to her old partying ways and drinking up a storm. It seems that this renewed partying just might lead to a repeat stint in rehab for the young star. The magazine is reporting that she has already done a bit of time in rehab lately. After a night of extreme drinking the petite actress collapse in a parking lot. Was she still drunk? No, she was trying to cleanse her body from the night before. She ended up seeking treatment at a holistic spa to detox.

Star magazine was told by someone close to Mary Kate that, “Mary-Kate seriously needs to get to rehab, but she doesn’t think she has a problem. She thinks she’s young, hip and entitled to live her life as she sees fit. But it’s affecting everything.”

This latest relapse is rumored to be due to the fact that she has not gotten over the death of friend Heath Ledger. At the time of his death in January, the two were rumored to be more that just friends. MJ was asked by Elle magazine about Heath’s death and responded by saying, “I’m not going to comment on that. I won’t give you a word about that in the nicest way possible. Let’s move on”

Rumors of her return to rehab come shortly after she was reported to have spent the fourth of July with gal pal Jessica Stam. Stam, a Canadian model was reported to have been a good influence on the blond star. Mary Kate was seen at the holiday BBQ, eating but not touching a single drop of alcohol.

So, as usual there are contradicting reports coming out of Tinsel Town. But let’s hope she is getting her act together. With her performance on Weeds and her role in The Wackness, Mary Kate Olsen is starting to look like a rising star.

Rehab for drug and alcohol abuse has become the norm for young Hollywood. It’s almost to the point where it doesn’t even create waves anymore. Oh, another tartlet is in rehab for the day? Yawn.

So, when Kirsten Dunst went to the Cirque Lodge for rehab, it hardly made a blimp on anyone’s radar. But now that she is out she is talking about why she was in, which is rare. Usually when the rehab stint is done, the star leaves and just starts partying again. There may be the odd comment or reference to it, but nothing in depth. So it was a nice change when Dunst sat down with E-online’s Mark Malkin to discus her time in rehab. Another shocker is that she claims she wasn’t in for drug or alcohol abuse, but rather for depression.

“I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse. I went there for depression.”

“It was a good six months before I decided to go away,” Dunst says. “I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

While she is taking some hits from people who claim that she is just lying about her reasons for being in rehab, I think what she did was very brave. I mean, think about it. Drug and alcohol abuse is widely known about and talked about in Hollywood. It’s really no biggie. But depression? That’s another matter entirely. While there have been more stars coming out and acknowledge their depression, like Rosie O’Donnell and Brooke Shields, it’s still somewhat taboo.

So I don’t think Dunst is lying about why she was at Cirque Lodge. Admitting to depression instead of going with alcohol or drug abuse may have actually made things harder for the young star.
