Tim McGraw keeps things under control
July 1st, 2008
Once upon a time if you acted like a twit at a concert, you only had to contend with the rent a cops that were hired to keeps things at a low level of chaos. Well now it seems that you’ve got to watch out for the musicians you’ve paid the big bucks to see, especially if that musician is Tim McGraw.
At a Tuesday night concert at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington Tim halted a performance of Indian Outlaw to haul a concertgoer on stage after calling for security to escort him out. Almost immediately after the concert, clips appeared all over youtube, showing the country artist man handling the fan. After Tim grabs him and pulls him onstage, a slew of security guards come to take the man off stage. Appearing a wee bit tipsy and probably crapping his pants at the fact that he was on stage with Tim, the fan didn’t want to go and seemed to go at Tim, who cocked his fist back and was about to punch the man when security finally got him under control. In typical drunken fashion, the fan whips his cowboy hat around in the air like he’d just won the lotto.
Now, through this whole incident the band is still playing Indian Outlaw in the background. Calm as anything, Tim walks up to the mike, looks out at the crowd and sings the next line to the song, “I ain’t lookin’ for trouble.” Of course the crowd goes wild.
But why did Tim get the fan kicked out? It appears the man was assaulting a female in the front row of the concert. For me, this put a different spin on it. I thought, good for you Tim! Nice to know that there are still a few gentlemen left in the music business.
