DMX arrested….again

July 25th, 2008

Hey, remember when rappers were known for, well rapping? Ah, those were the good ole days! Rappers rapped and criminals committed crimes. But over the past few years the two have kind of melted together. And rapper DMX seems Hell bent to be the record holder among rappers for most times arrested. Since early May, DMX, who’s real name is Earl Simmons, has been arrested a whopping six times.

Earl’s latest arrest stems from a hospital visit. While being treated at the Mayo clinic for pneumonia, he gave his name as Troy Jones, providing a social security number for the alias, hoping to get out of paying the over seven thousand dollar bill. Or maybe he was just ticked that no one recognized him. Either way, he was arrested at a Phoenix mall over the weekend and indicted Tuesday with two felony counts of theft and taking someone’s identify.

Let’s take a quick stroll through his other charges shall we?

May 6th the rapper was stopped for speeding. Okay, not too bad. We all put the petal to the metal every once in a while. One count of speeding isn’t all that serious. But then a few days later, the cops raided his house, resulting in charges of animal cruelty and drug possession. A bit more serious. Especially if the animal abuse took place while high on the drugs. I don’t even want to imagine what that would look like.

Then in June he managed to try to buy drugs off of an under cover cop and was arrested again. This drug arrest came a few days after the rapper was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Really. Now he just seems a bit stupid, not gangta.

July 2nd he was arrested for missing a court day in relation to the animal cruelty and drug possession charges. But who can blame him? He’s been arrested so much, he probably got confused. Understandable.

And that brings us up to his latest arrest. Wow, that was a bit tiring. Think I need a nap.

Eminem being sued over bathroom punch

July 9th, 2008

Eminem, who has been taking it easy and staying out of the spotlight, is being sued by a fan who alleges that the rapper punched him in the bathroom of a strip club two years ago. The alleged assault took place July 13th, 2006 at Cheetah’s on the Strip Gentlemen’s Club.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Miad Jarbou, claims that Jabou and a friend of his saw Eminem in the bathroom of the strip club, using one of the urinals. His friend spoke to the rapper and Eminem’s sercurity told him to “shut the *#*# up”. For whatever reason, Jarbou felt that he had to stand up for his friend, so he decided to put in his two cents worth, saying to the bodyguard, “Hey man, my friend ain’t starting trouble. It’s just cool to see Eminem.” What happend next, acording to the lawsuit, is that Eminem stepped away from the urinal and “without warning or provocation drove his fist in a violent punching manner” straight into Miad’s face.

Now, while I sure do not condone violence of any kind, I also don’t think it’s such a wise idea to approach a rapper, especially one who is known somewhat for his violent ways, while he is using an urinal. The only one who should approach Eminem in the bathroom of a strip club is a stripper.

Miad Jarbou is suing for more than twenty five thousand dollars in damages, stating that he has “undergone physical pain and suffering, emotional distress, ongoing serious injuries requiring medical treatment, embarrassment, humiliation, medical expenses (and) wage loss.”

Eminem has not issued a statement and it is unclear why Jarbou waited two years before filing the lawsuit. Maybe he needed to get up the nerve to let the whole world know he was stupid enough to approach a celebrity while they were relieving themself.

Kanye’s latest rant.

June 27th, 2008

Surprise, surprise, Kanye West once again has his designer knickers in a knot. This time it is over what he perceives as personal insults against him when his performance at the Tennessee Bonnaroo Festival was delayed for several hours.

Seems Mr. West was scheduled to play after Pearl Jam, but there was a two hour delay which is being blamed on problems setting up his massive stage show. The crowd was understandably upset by the delay, especially since Kanye was slated to perform at 2:49 am. The crowd grew angrier and threw glow sticks and beer cans onto the stage before breaking into a rousing round of “Kanye Sucks”. The rapper eventually took the stage, but had to cut his act short due in part to the fact that it was supposed to be glow in the dark ad they were fast approaching sunrise.

In typical Kanye fashion, he kind of apologizes while going on a rant about how upset he is about the criticism he is receiving due to his delayed performance. On his blog, he has stated that this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I’ve ever had in my life. This is the most offended I’ve ever been … this is the maddest I ever will be.” Until something else happens that ticks himoff, that is. I’m not even sure why he is insulted. He was late for whatever reasons and he was called on it. End of story. Say you are sorry you screwed up and move on. Don’t blame it on everyone else in the world like you’re a five year old who got caught doing something you shoulnd’t have been doing, but blame it on your brother. “Pearl Jam ended one hour late!” It’s all their fault!

I won’t bore you to tears with the rest of his blog rant, but basically he whines on and on about how unfair he is being treated. Sounds to me like he needs to grow a thicker skin. For someone who claims to be the greatest human being on Earth, he sure does offend easily.

Nate Dogg’s ex wife hoping his bark is worse than his bite

June 25th, 2008

Well, it seems that Nate Dogg’s temper has once again gotten the best of him. The rapper, who has collaborated with the likes of Ludacris, Emimen and his cousin Snoop Dogg, was arrested for uttering terrorist threats. No, he didn’t threaten to blow up Bush or anything. Dogg, who’s real name is Nathaniel Hale, uttered the death threats against his estranged wife.

A CHP spokesman told E! News that a 911 call was received from Dogg’s estranged wife claiming that the rapper had threatened her and was following her in his car northbound on Interstate 405. According to this spokesperson “Officers moved to intercept and stopped both the victim and Mr. Hale. Subsequent investigations supported her statement and fears.”

He was taken into custody and booked at L.A. County Medical Ward of the Twin Towers jail. Dogg suffered a stroke last year and it is unclear if his visit to the medical center has anything to do with his previous illness. The charges were one count of uttering a terrorist threat and one count of driving with a suspended license. This is not the artist’s first brush with the law. Back in March he plead guilty to an attack on his ex girlfriend’s new man two years ago and was given three years probation.

Why do these rappers have to keep trying to kill their exes? Was she trying to take some of your money, Dogg? Hell, you’ve got enough, just give her some. No need to threaten to kill her then chase her down an interstate. And with a suspended license? On probation for assault? Something tells me that it may be awhile before we hear anything new from this gansta rapper, except maybe some harmonica playing and cup banging..
